Additionally,there is a higher chance that the patient information may beinaccurate since there are no real time updates. This poses a bigproblem to the adoption of this system since the patients’conditions varies with time and thus needs to be regularly updated.

Acrucial factor that promotes the adoption of the EHRs in theadmission department is the interoperability with the otherdepartments of the hospital. There is a great need to link all thedepartments of the facility so that they can work in unison. Theelectronic health records are crucial in linking all the departmentsof the facility especially the admission department since it providesall the basis of the patients’ information to other departments.Therefore, there is a great need to adopt the EHRs in the admissiondepartment (Simon,et al. 2007).
Also,the medical staff’s work efficiency and time management is crucialto promoting the adoption of EHRs in the admission department. Sincethe EHRs is significant to reducing the time taken by the patientsonce they report to the facility, it provides a great need for it tobe adopted in this department. Additional, there is a great need forthe time management and efficiency of most of the processes in thehospital, and this promotes the adoption of EHRs in the admissiondepartment.
Oneof the primary solutions associated with the electronic healthrecords is the achievement of the high level of efficiency in thehospital. The electronic health record is known to reduce congestionappropriately and also to enhance time management within thefacility. This is because it is an automated system, and therefore,the patients will take a little time on the hospital’s processes(Simon,et al. 2007).
Anothermajor solution is easier and appropriate storage of patients’ datadue to its technological advancement. This system provides an easierretrieval of patients information once they come back to thehospital. Therefore, there is no risk of losing the data on anypatient thus replacing the previous methods of storage of thepatients’ information that were inappropriate (Columbus,2006).
Stepsthat the management can take
Themanagement can play a crucial role in the adoption of the electronichealth records in the admission department of the hospital. They cando this through education of their patients on the use of theelectronic health records systems.
Additionally,the leaders can help in the adoption of the EHRs by fully funding thesystem. It is evident that this system is much expensive but helpfulto the organization. Therefore, through the support of the managementby funding the EHRs will facilitate its adoption to the hospital.Also, when the management adopts the system first, it will be easierfor it to be adopted by other departments of their facility (Simon,et al. 2007).
