Coulda robot be capable of free action? Why or why not?

Robotsare highly advanced developments that humans have been able todevelop till date. Through groundbreaking progress in scientificinnovations, it has become possible to create robots that resemblehuman beings. As such this robots can act independently even in verycomplex situation. It is able to operate on its own by makingdecisions and conducting what it wanted to do based on itsprogramming. This advancement in robot development raises thequestion whether robots are capable of free action or not.

Thoughrobots can act independently, it significantly lacks severalqualities to be fully considered capable of free action. Robots lackemotions and feelings, it cannot feel various emotions such anger, jealousy, pain, sorrow, love among others and in effect it is notcapable to express these emotions to others. Robots do not have thepower to understand, decide and think for themselves but robots areonly capable of obeying commands.

Itdiffers from humans who have the power of free action for themselves. In essence humans not only think, understand, and decide forthemselves but also it gives these qualities to the robots theyoperate or create. The free action exhibited by robots is whollyprovided for by humans humans provide robots with the ability tounderstand the commands given to them and thus are able to functionaccordingly. Robots do not have the ability to add their inputs orobject to the command or give suggestions in contrast humans have theability to perform all this and more. In addition robots do not usefood, water and oxygen the essential requirements needed for freesurvival. Therefore, robots cannot be considered capable of freeaction.
