Theauthor discusses the role of ANS in heart failure Pathophysiology andtherapeutics. The author first discusses its role is normal cardiacfunctioning that include accelerating heart rate and contractility. It is also instrumental in positive lusitropy and constriction ofresistance. These improve cardiac performance. However, a prolongedinsult to the heart muscle makes the ANS succumb failure. Theauthor’s approach of using diagrammatic expressions makes it easyto understand what happens during heart failure after the failure ofANS.
